Programme overview

What this programme does

A flexible, blended learning programme designed to upskill IT professionals in designing, installing, maintaining and supporting communication networks. The programme combines advanced training, expert mentorship and the latest tools to prepare learners for success in a high-demand field.

Delivery format

A blended learning approach combining instructor-led sessions (live online workshops delivered by your dedicated trainer, plus four-weekly sessions with your dedicated work-based coach) alongside self-paced digital learning through interactive activities and extensive hands-on Packet Tracer labs that challenge you in a safe environment. The programme is delivered through flexible off-the-job hours: 40% of that time is provided by Primary Goal through remote training sessions, one-to-one coaching, eLearning courses and work-based projects. The other 60% covers workplace activities such as attending meetings, CPD, conferences and industry events, and shadowing. All of these activities relate directly to the Network Engineer programme.

Final assessment

The End Point Assessment confirms full occupational competence. Assessment Method 1 has two components: a simulated assessment set by the End Point Assessment Organisation, followed by a question and answer session based on the simulation. Assessment Method 2 is a professional discussion demonstrating applied knowledge and skills, underpinned by a portfolio of evidence.

We provide ongoing support across your whole apprenticeship. You will have access to interactive modules, video tutorials and our community networks, plus regular networking events that connect learners with industry professionals. Our team is available for any queries or challenges along the way.
