Programme overview

What this programme does

Support your school’s digital transformation projects. Designed for those working in administration, data or operations, this programme equips you with the digital skills to thrive in a modern school or college environment. You will gain the skills to manage and protect data securely, support staff and students with digital tools, and improve workflows using automation and AI. From diagnosing digital problems to using collaborative technologies and developing strong communication and stakeholder support skills, you will be equipped to confidently support and lead digital transformation in your education setting.

What you will learn

  • How to use AI safely and effectively across different aspects of your role
  • How to organise, analyse and monitor data to support digital operations and software use
  • Which emerging technology options may benefit your class or school
  • Automation options for workflows
  • Your organisation’s digital architecture and what it means for your role and future projects

Delivery format

A blended learning approach including 10 live sessions with your cohort over 12 months, with complementary self-paced, asynchronous modules. Monthly one-to-one meetings with your coach develop your understanding of the apprenticeship knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs), tailored to your needs. The programme is delivered through flexible off-the-job hours: 40% of that time is provided by Primary Goal through remote training sessions, one-to-one coaching, eLearning courses and work-based projects. The other 60% covers workplace activities such as attending meetings, CPD, conferences and industry events, and shadowing.

Final assessment

Assessment Method 1 is a short project write-up, based on a four-week work-based project, with a presentation and a 30 minute question and answer session. Assessment Method 2 is a professional discussion demonstrating applied knowledge and skills, underpinned by a portfolio of evidence. Successful completion leads to an industry-recognised qualification.
